Fitsly vs Kahunas

What Fitsly and Kahunas cost at 25, 50 and 200 clients, what sits on each plan, and what a branded app means on each one.

Coaches shortlist Kahunas and Fitsly for the same two reasons: both put nutrition and training in one product, and both will publish a coaching app under your own name. Where they part is what sits on which plan, how much of the coaching you can do from your phone, and what "your own app" means and costs on each.

This lays out what each platform charges at 25, 50 and 200 clients, what is on each tier, and which coach each one suits. Kahunas figures are from their own help centre as of September 2026 and are monthly-billing prices.

The short version
01

Fitsly puts every feature on every plan; Kahunas adds features as you move up its three tiers. Group messaging, payments, automations, check-in forms, habits, sub-coaches and your own branding in the client app are all on Fitsly's $39 plan. On Kahunas, group messaging and the Zapier and Make connections are on Ultimate only, and Essentials and Growth run on the standard Kahunas app with no custom branding. Fitsly's coach app also does the whole job on iOS and Android — programs, meal plans, check-ins, payments — which coaches who have moved across tell us is the change they notice first.

02

On price the two are level at 50 clients: $69 on both. Below that, Kahunas Essentials is $35 for 25 clients against Fitsly's $39 for 20. Above it, Kahunas Ultimate is $99 for unlimited clients with its own branded store listings, where Fitsly steps to $99, $159 and $229 and a store listing under your name is a $199 add-on. Kahunas is the cheaper route to an app under your own name; what Fitsly's plan buys at every step is the full product with nothing held back for a higher tier.

Fitsly's price is stepped by active client count and flat in features: $39 for 20, $69 for 50, $99 for 75, $159 for 125, $229 for 200, $419 for 500, custom above that. Everything the platform does is on every one of those steps, and white label is the only thing you can add.

Kahunas is stepped in both. Essentials at $35 covers 25 clients, Growth at $69 covers 50, and Ultimate at $99 removes the client cap and adds the branded apps and store listings, group messaging, and the Zapier and Make connections.

The practical difference is what moves the bill. On Fitsly it is one number: sign more clients and you step up a plan, and nothing you need is ever a tier away. On Kahunas, growing past a cap and wanting a feature are two separate reasons to change plan, and they can land on different tiers.

Custom branding and white label are two different things

Both platforms will put your name on the app, and they mean different things by it, so this is worth reading carefully before the price.

Custom branding is your logo, colours and business name inside the platform's own app. Clients still download the vendor's app from the store. On Fitsly this is on every plan at no cost: your name, logo, theme colour and secondary colour carry through the client app, the invitation and welcome emails, the account-setup page a new client lands on, and your public forms and payment pages. Kahunas does not offer it on Essentials or Growth — clients on those plans use the standard Kahunas app, as of September 2026.

White label is a separate app on the App Store and Google Play under your own name, with no vendor branding anywhere. On Fitsly it is $199 a month on any plan from 20 clients up: we build a standalone app, published under your business name and your own Apple and Google developer accounts, and updates to a newer Fitsly version are $100 each, allowed once every 60 days. On Kahunas it is inside the $99 Ultimate plan with no client cap.

That makes Kahunas Ultimate the cheapest published white label in the category — $99 against $268 on Fitsly at 50 clients — and it is a fair thing to weigh if a listing under your own name is the centre of what you sell. What the Fitsly figure buys is the whole product underneath the listing: every feature, the coach app on both platforms, and a plan that changes only with your roster. And for the many coaches who want their brand in front of clients without publishing an app, Fitsly gives them that from $39, where Kahunas asks for Ultimate. The white label comparison across the market sets both against every platform that publishes a price.

At 50 clients the two are the same price

Kahunas Growth is $69 a month for up to 50 clients. Fitsly's 50-client tier is $69 a month. That is a genuine like-for-like at the client count most full-time online coaches operate at, and it is rare enough in this category to be worth saying plainly.

What separates them at that price is what each $69 contains. On Fitsly, all of it: the training and workout builder and exercise library, meal plans and nutrition tracking with a food database and recipes, habits, check-in forms, progress photos and measurements, client management, lead capture and onboarding, payments and packages, one-to-one and group messaging, a community feed, a content vault, automations, your branding in the client app, Apple Health sync, sub-coaches, and coach apps for iOS, Android and web.

On Kahunas, Growth sits between Essentials and Ultimate, so group messaging, the Zapier and Make connections and the branded apps are all above it. What Growth adds over Essentials beyond the higher client cap is not published in the source we work from, so check it on their site rather than assuming either way.

Same money, same roster. On Fitsly the $69 is the entire product, and it is the same product whether you open it on a laptop or your phone.

Coaching from your phone

Most of a coach's admin happens in gaps — between sessions, on the train, on the couch at 9pm — and a coach app that only shows you a summary and sends you to a laptop for the real work is one you fall behind on.

Fitsly's coach app on iOS and Android does everything the web version does. You can build and assign a program, write a meal plan, review a week of check-ins, take a payment, set up an automation and message a client without opening a computer. Coaches who have moved from platforms with a lighter coach app tell us this is the first thing they notice: the work that used to wait for a desk gets done between clients.

They also tell us a week of check-ins takes less time than it did, because the form, the photos, the week's training and the food log are on one screen, so the reply gets written in the time it used to take to find the data.

Kahunas' coach app and what it covers are not described in the source we work from, so try it on your phone during the trial: build a program, read a check-in and change a client's plan without touching a computer, and see how far you get.

Nutrition is on both entry plans

This is the claim a Fitsly comparison would normally lead with, and against Kahunas it is level.

Kahunas Essentials, their $35 entry plan, already includes a food database with 800,000 barcodes, micronutrients and a TDEE calculator, along with a content vault and voice-note messaging, as of September 2026. Nutrition is not gated behind a higher tier and it is not an add-on.

Fitsly's nutrition sits on the $39 tier and every tier above it, with meal plans, a verified food database, custom foods, a recipe library and per-client macro targets. Clients log by search, by barcode scan or straight from the meal plan they have been assigned. Both platforms treat it as base product, so choose on how the tools work for your clients in the trial rather than on the price.

What Fitsly claims

Four things.

Every feature is on every tier. There is no nutrition plan, no payments plan, no automations plan and no branding plan. A coach on the $39 tier has the same product as a coach on the $419 tier, with a smaller roster. Group messaging is the example worth naming here: on Fitsly it is on the entry plan, and on Kahunas it is on Ultimate.

The coach app does the whole job. Every coaching task works on iOS and Android, not a reduced set with the rest pushed to a desktop.

The bill depends on one number. Active client count, nothing else. No feature you discover you need in month three, no add-on to switch on when you start taking payments. You can predict the invoice a year out by predicting your roster.

Updates ship quickly and requests get built. Coaches who have moved across tell us the thing they did not expect is how often something they asked for turns up in the app, and how rarely anything breaks when it does.

Fitsly is not the cheapest platform above 50 clients, and Kahunas is one of the reasons why. What the difference buys is everything above, at every step, with nothing to add on.

Where Kahunas suits a coach

Two cases.

A coach whose product is the app under their own name, with a roster past 50. Ultimate has no client cap, so the bill is $99 at 60 clients and $99 at 400, and the store listing is inside it. A coach building a brand-first business on a large roster gets that for less on Kahunas than on any platform that publishes a price.

A coach whose workflow runs through Zapier or Make. Kahunas ships those connections on Ultimate. Fitsly's automations are built into the product and trigger on events inside it — a client joining, a form coming in, a package being bought. If your business depends on pushing coaching events into a separate CRM, email tool or spreadsheet, check that in the trial, because the built-in kind and the connector kind solve different problems.

Where Fitsly suits a coach

A coach who wants everything without reading a tier table. Below 50 clients on Fitsly you have group messaging, payments, automations, sub-coaches and every other tool at $39 a month, and the only reason to move up a plan is that you signed more clients. On Kahunas, growing past 25 clients and wanting group messaging are two separate reasons to change plan, and they land on different tiers.

A coach who wants their brand in front of clients without buying a store listing. Fitsly's brand kit is on every plan: your business name, logo and colours in the client app, the emails, the account-setup page and your public forms and payment pages. For most coaches under 50 clients that covers the entire first impression, and it costs nothing extra. On Kahunas, your branding arrives with Ultimate.

A coach who runs the business from a phone. In-person trainers, hybrid coaches and anyone whose admin happens between sessions get the full product on iOS and Android, not a summary.

A coach who takes payments and wants them in the same place as the coaching. Packages, subscriptions, a public storefront page, coupons and refunds are in the base product at $39. A client pays by card through Stripe, their account is created and linked, and subscriptions bill on schedule.

One thing to weigh before you decide either way: Fitsly has no in-platform video calling, so coaches who run calls use Zoom or Google Meet alongside. Kahunas' position on video calling is not published in what we hold, so check it rather than assuming.

For how the same trade looks against a platform that bundles the branded app into a plan tier, the FitBudd comparison runs the same arithmetic, and the Hevy Coach comparison covers the end of the market where pricing is much simpler.

If you are switching

The export is never the hard part. The clients are. Every one of them installs a new app, sets up a new login and learns where their program lives, and that is where a migration loses people.

Move between program blocks rather than mid-block, give a week of notice, and rebuild your three most-used templates before the first invite goes out. Send the download link directly instead of telling clients to search a store, because two similarly named apps in search results is one support message per client.

If a branded app is involved

If you are moving away from a branded app in either direction, add a step: the old listing is dead to your clients the day you stop paying for it, so overlap the two platforms by a week rather than switching over a weekend.

Fitsly's trial is 14 days with every feature turned on, which is enough to rebuild a program, run a full check-in cycle and do most of it from your phone. Run the same test on both platforms, then check the number for your own client count on the pricing page rather than the 50-client example used here.
