How do I add or remove sets on an exercise in a workout?

Add or remove sets on an exercise from any workout editor by using the Add Set button or the X next to a set row.

To add or remove sets on an exercise, open the workout in the workout editor, use the Add Set button on the exercise card to add a set, or click the X on a set row to remove it, then click Save workout.

Steps to add a set

  1. Open the workout in the workout editor.
  2. Find the exercise in the exercise list.
  3. On the exercise card, click Add Set. The button sits in the same row as the Each side checkbox and tempo field.
  4. Click Save workout in the top right of the editor.

Steps to remove a set

  1. Open the workout in the workout editor.
  2. Find the exercise in the exercise list.
  3. On the set you want to remove, click the X icon on the left side of that set row.
  4. Click Save workout in the top right of the editor.

Where the workout editor is available

The same steps work anywhere you can edit a workout, including:

  • The Workouts page in the coach dashboard.
  • A workout on a client's calendar.
  • A workout assigned to a program.

Things to watch out for

  • The maximum is 20 sets per exercise. Once an exercise has 20 sets, the Add Set button is hidden.
  • An exercise must have at least one set. The remove X is hidden on the last remaining set — change the exercise or remove it from the workout instead.
  • The Add Set button is hidden for exercises inside an AMRAP or Timed section format, since those formats don't use a fixed set count.
  • Alternate exercises don't have their own set rows or an Add Set button. The client fills in their results manually when they swap to an alternate during the workout.
  • Changes only apply after you click Save workout. Closing the editor without saving discards the added or removed sets.
