How do my clients connect their wearable?

Send a client the setup steps for their Fitbit, Garmin, Oura, WHOOP, Polar, COROS, Samsung Health or Pixel Watch, and know what each one shares.

Wearables never connect to Fitsly directly. The wearable's own app shares its data with Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android), and the client app reads it from there — no extra login. If it syncs to Apple Health or Health Connect, it syncs to Fitsly.

So there are always two steps for the client: turn on sharing in the wearable's app, then connect Apple Health or Health Connect in the client app.

Open a wearable's setup guide from your dashboard

  1. Open the client's profile and go to their Integrations tab.
  2. In the Sources card, click a chip in the Wearables row: Fitbit, Garmin, Oura Ring, Whoop, Samsung Health, Polar, Pixel Watch or COROS.
  3. The guide panel opens with a description of what the wearable shares, an On iPhone and/or On Android card of numbered steps, and a Good to know list.

Nothing on this panel connects anything — the client does that on their phone.

Send the setup steps to a client

Click Ask [client] to connect in the guide panel. It copies a ready-made message to your clipboard — a greeting, the request, and the iPhone and/or Android steps — and opens your one-to-one chat with the client, creating it if needed. Paste and send; nothing goes out automatically. If your browser blocks clipboard access you see "Could not copy the message" and the chat still opens so you can type it.

FitbitYes — through the Google Health appYes — through the Google Health app
GarminYesYes (Android 14 or later)

WHOOPYesYes

COROSYesYes
Samsung HealthNot listedYes
Pixel WatchNot listedYes — through the Google Health app

Anything else that writes to Apple Health or Health Connect — Zepp, Mi Fitness or Withings, for example — syncs too, even without a tile of its own.

Steps your client follows in the client app

  1. Go to Profile and tap App Integrations.
  2. Under Works with your wearable, tap the wearable's tile. A sheet opens headed with its name and Syncs through Apple Health or Health Connect.
  3. Follow the numbered steps under In the [app] app to turn on sharing, then sync the wearable in that app.
  4. Tap Connect Apple Health / Connect Health Connect at the bottom of the sheet and allow access. If the platform is already connected, the sheet shows a green note instead — the wearable's data arrives on the next sync.

The Apple Watch tile has nothing to switch on: the watch records workouts, steps, heart rate and sleep to Apple Health automatically, and the sheet says to check Health sharing is on in the Watch app.

Things to watch out for

  • The wearable's app has to sync first. The client app can only see what has already been shared with Apple Health or Health Connect — if it isn't there, Fitsly can't see it either.
  • Polar only shares data recorded after the switch is turned on; no history is backfilled. WHOOP shares workouts and sleep and no step counts. COROS shares exercise sessions and heart rate.
  • Step counts follow the phone's combined total across phone, watch and wearable apps, so they can differ slightly from the wearable's own app.
  • Every setup sheet has a collapsible Data not syncing? row with the three usual causes: the wearable hasn't synced to its app, the data isn't in Apple Health or Health Connect at all, or permissions reset after a phone update.
