An onboarding flow is a bundle of content and feature settings applied all at once, the moment a new client joins. Unlike an automation, it isn't a timeline — everything in it lands on day one.
Build flows on the Onboarding page under Tools. The page lists flows ten per page with a name search, a row menu offering Edit, Duplicate, and Delete, and a Watch tutorials action with onboarding videos.
Create an onboarding flow
- Go to Onboarding and click New flow.
- Enter a flow name — up to 100 characters — and click Create flow.
- In the editor, use the category cards to add content from your libraries.
- Set the Enabled Features toggles.
- Click Save. Unsaved changes are flagged, and closing without saving warns first.
Choose what the flow bundles
A flow can hold any number of items from nine categories: phased programs (each with its own Subscribe/Copy, Scheduled/On-demand, and start choices), structured programs, nutrition plans, check-in forms, one-time forms, habits, vault collections, vault resources, and automations. Items are removed a row at a time.
Cards for a feature the flow has switched off dim with an off pill, but you can still add content to them — the content simply belongs to a feature the flow disables.
Choose enabled features in an onboarding flow
The Enabled Features card holds ten on/off toggles in three groups:
| Group | Toggles |
|---|---|
| Core | Training, Nutrition, Calendar, Messaging |
| Tracking | Check-ins, Progress Photos, Body Metrics |
| Content | Habits, Vault, Community |
All default to on, and any toggle a flow doesn't set counts as on — a client only loses a feature when it's explicitly switched off. The toggles are applied to the client's account the moment they join.
Attach a flow so it reaches a client
- Creating a client — pick a flow in the optional Onboarding flow section of the new-client form. A preview shows everything it bundles.
- Payment packages — attach one flow to a package, so anyone who purchases it is onboarded automatically after checkout. One flow per package, and it's removable.
What happens when an onboarding flow runs
The flow runs automatically the moment the client activates their invited account, or completes checkout on a package it's attached to.
- All bundled content is assigned immediately and silently — no notification storm on day one.
- Habits start that day with no end date.
- The feature toggles are applied.
- Any included automations start with that day as week 1, day 1.
The client sees nothing labelled "onboarding" — their content is just there when they first open the client app, and the flow's toggles decide which tabs and features they get. If the flow includes forms, they're asked to complete them on first open.
Rename, duplicate, and delete onboarding flows
Rename in the editor breadcrumb. Duplicate or delete from the row menu — a duplicate is named "{name} - Copy", and deleting shows a can't-be-undone confirmation.
Things to watch out for
A flow runs once, at join. Editing or deleting it only affects clients who join afterwards; content it already assigned and features it already toggled stay as they are.
The delete confirmation doesn't warn you about packages the flow is attached to, so check your packages first.
Onboarding assignments are best-effort. Deleted programs, habits, and automations are skipped silently, and a deleted meal plan, form, or vault item simply fails to assign — a failure isn't surfaced to you or the client, and the rest of the flow still runs. If a new client seems to be missing something, check their profile and assign it manually.
