How do I control which features a client can use?

Use the ten Feature Control toggles on a client's Settings tab to hide parts of the client app without deleting anything.

Every client has ten feature switches that decide which parts of the client app they see. All ten are on by default, so a new client gets everything until you turn something off.

This is how you keep a nutrition-only client out of the training tab, or hide the community from a one-to-one client.

Change a client's feature toggles

  1. Open the client's profile and go to Settings → Feature Control.
  2. Toggle any of the ten features. Turn all on and Turn all off flip everything at once.
  3. Changes save automatically — the header shows "Saving…" and then "All changes saved".

What each toggle hides

ToggleWhat the client loses when it's off
TrainingPrograms, workouts and logging — the training tab, today's workout card, weekly streaks
NutritionMeal plans and food logging — the nutrition tab and macro displays
CalendarThe Calendar (schedule) tab in the app's bottom bar
MessagingOne-to-one chat with you, and message buttons throughout the app
Check-insScheduled check-ins — check-in tasks on the dashboard and schedule
HabitsHabit tasks and cards
Progress PhotosPhoto uploads and comparisons on the progress tab
Body MetricsWeight and measurements on the progress tab
VaultShared files and resources — the vault tab
CommunityThe group feed and challenges on the progress tab

What switching a feature off actually does

A switched-off feature is hidden from that client's app — its tabs, cards, and buttons disappear. Nothing is deleted. Turning it back on restores everything exactly as it was, including content you assigned while the feature was off.

A feature is only ever hidden when you explicitly switch it off. Anything you've never touched counts as on.

Switching off Training or Nutrition also pauses that client's Training and Nutrition panels on your Settings tab.

Things to watch out for

The change doesn't hit the client's screen instantly. It reaches the client app on its next account refresh — every 14 minutes while the app is open, or when they reopen it. If you're on the phone with a client, ask them to close and reopen the app.

Feature toggles are the first thing to check when a client says they can't see something you assigned. Content assigned to a client whose matching feature is off simply has nowhere to appear.

In a team, sub-coaches can change these toggles only for the clients assigned to them.
