Set your client defaults from Settings → App Display. Whatever you save there is copied onto every client created after the change. Existing clients are not updated retroactively — to change an existing client's settings you override them on that client's profile.
Where to set the defaults
- Open Settings from the top navigation, then click the App Display tab.
- Use the left-hand menu to switch between the six panels: Workouts, Nutrition, Forms, Calendar, Units, and Date & Time.
- Update the values in a panel, then click Save Changes at the bottom of that panel. Each panel saves separately, so save before switching tabs.
What you can configure under App Display
Workouts
- Workout day movement — Allow clients to move their workout dates. When on, clients can change the date of their workouts from the mobile app.
- Freestyle workouts — Allow clients to create their own workouts. When on, clients can build and log freestyle workouts from the mobile app.
- Exercise library access — choose Search from system exercises, Search from your custom exercises, or both, for the libraries clients can pick from when adding exercises to a workout.
Nutrition
- Macro visibility — Show macros for clients. When off, calories and macro information are hidden in the client's nutrition logger.
- Food search visibility — Show recommended foods in search and Show custom foods in search.
Forms
- One Time Form Visibility — Show one time forms upon entering app. When off, clients are not auto-redirected to pending one-time forms when they open the app.
Calendar
- Calendar visibility — Show the previous week, and Show the next 1, 2, 3, or 4 weeks. Sets the date range new clients see on their calendars.
Units
- Units of Weight — Metric System (kg) or US/Imperial System (lb).
- Units of Length — Metric System (km) or US/Imperial System (miles).
Date & Time
- Date Format — MM/DD/YYYY or DD/MM/YYYY.
- Timezone — searchable list with offsets.
Defaults only apply to new clients
Defaults are copied onto a client at the moment their account is created. Changing a default later does not update existing clients — they keep whatever values were on their account.
To change a setting for an existing client, override it on that client's profile.
How to override a default for one specific client
- Open the client from the Clients page.
- Click Settings in the client's tab menu.
- Pick the right panel from the secondary menu and update its values:
- Feature Control — turn individual app sections (Training, Nutrition, Messaging, Check-ins, Habits, Progress photos, Body metrics, Vault, Community) on or off for this client.
- Training — workout day movement, freestyle workouts, exercise library access, and calendar visibility for this client.
- Nutrition — macro visibility and food search visibility for this client.
- Forms — one time form visibility for this client.
- Preferences — units of weight/length, timezone, and date format for this client.
- Click Save Changes in the panel.
Per-client overrides only affect that client. They do not change your defaults and do not touch other clients.
Things to watch out for
- Defaults apply only to clients created after you save the change. Existing clients are unaffected — update them individually under Clients → the client → Settings.
- Each panel under App Display has its own Save Changes button. Switching tabs without saving discards the change in that panel.
- Under Exercise library access, you can't deselect both system and custom exercises — turning one off forces the other on.
- Feature Control (which app sections a client can access) is per-client only. There is no team-wide default for feature gating under App Display.
- The Units and Date & Time values under App Display are also your own coach display settings. Changing them updates how dates, times, and units appear to you, and sets the default for clients created after the change.
