Once a workout is completed, the logged set values can only be edited by the client from their app. The Workout Results drawer in the coach dashboard is read-only — there's no edit button on a completed workout. If you need different values, ask the client to update them from their phone, or have them delete and re-do the workout.
The client edits logged results from their app
- The client opens the completed workout from My Schedule or Workout History in their app.
- On the workout summary page, they tap the pencil icon in the top-left actions row, next to the back arrow.
- The workout re-opens in the logging flow with all previously logged values pre-filled.
- They update any set's reps, weight, time, or distance.
- They tap through to the summary screen and save to commit the changes.
The updated values flow back into Exercise History, Workout History, and Personal Bests. They show up in your coach dashboard the next time you open the Workout Results drawer for that assignment.
The client deletes results to start over
If the logged values are too far off to be worth fixing, the client can scrap the assignment and start fresh.
- On the completed workout summary page, the client taps the trash icon in the top actions row.
- They confirm in the Delete workout results sheet ("Are you sure you would like to delete all of the results you have logged for this workout?").
- They tap Delete results. They see "Workout results have been discarded."
The workout returns to its assigned state, and they can start it again from scratch.
What you can do as the coach
The Workout Results drawer in the coach dashboard does not let you edit a client's logged values. From the drawer for a completed workout you can:
- Comment on the workout — useful for asking the client to correct a value.
- Copy to day(s) — duplicate the workout to other days.
- Discard results — only available when you logged the workout on behalf of the client. The drawer shows a banner ("This workout was logged by you on behalf of the client.") with a Discard results button. Discarding returns the workout to its assigned state for the client.
If you need to change the structure of a workout (which exercises, what sets) before the client logs it, edit it from the calendar drawer before they start it. Once Edit workout actions are gated behind assigned status with no coach-logging started — they disappear once a workout is in progress or completed.
What clients can't change after a workout is completed
The structure of a completed workout — which exercises are in it, how many sets each one has — is locked. If your client tries to add or remove exercises in the workout-completor's options sheet, they'll see a toast: "You cannot modify a completed workout." The pencil edits values only.
Things to watch out for
- There is no "mark as incomplete" action. Fitsly does not put completed workouts back into an in-progress state. The closest thing is the client deleting results, which removes everything.
- A coach editing logged values directly from the dashboard is not supported. The Workout Results drawer for a completed workout shows the values as a read-only summary.
- The Discard results button only appears for workouts you logged on behalf of the client (when the assignment has a
coachLoggingCompletedByvalue). It doesn't appear on workouts the client logged themselves. - Deleting results is final — there's no undo. Personal Bests recalculate after a sync if any of the deleted results contributed to them.
- Archived clients can't see the pencil or trash icons on their workout summary page, so they can't edit or delete completed results. Unarchive them first if you need their results corrected.
