As the community's coach you can comment and react anywhere in the feed, delete anything in it, and decide what members are allowed to do. All of this is on the web dashboard.
Comment and react in the feed
You can comment on any thread, reply to any comment, and react with an emoji. Comments are text only, up to 5,000 characters, and replies nest one level under a comment where they can be expanded or collapsed.
The quick reaction set is ❤️ 😂 😮 😢 😡 👍, plus a full emoji picker. Each person holds one reaction per thread or comment — picking a different emoji replaces the old one, and picking the same emoji again removes it. Click a reaction pill to see who reacted.
Your posts and comments carry a Coach badge, so members always know which voice is yours.
Delete a thread or comment as the coach
Open the … menu on a thread and choose Delete post, or use the comment menu and choose Delete, then confirm.
You can delete any thread or comment in your community, not just your own. Deleting a thread removes its comments, replies, reactions, and poll along with it, and deleting a comment removes its replies. Deletions can't be undone.
You can only edit your own threads and comments. Edits are marked "edited" for everyone and the previous version isn't kept.
Control what members can do
- Open the community's Settings tab.
- Set the permission toggles.
- Click Save changes — toggles don't save individually.
| Setting | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Allow members to post | Members can create new threads. When off, they can still read, comment, react, and vote | On |
| Allow post comments | Members can comment on threads. When off, they can't comment — you still can | On |
Turning a permission off blocks new member posts or comments from that point on; existing ones stay in the feed. A member with the community already open sees the New thread button or comment box appear or disappear once their app refreshes the screen.
Choose which community alerts you receive
The same Settings tab controls your own alerts for this community. All four are on by default, and you set them per community. Click Save changes to apply them.
| Preference | You're alerted when |
|---|---|
| Thread posted | A member posts a new thread |
| Thread reacted | Someone reacts to your threads |
| Thread commented on | Someone comments on your threads |
| Thread comment replied to | Someone replies to your comments |
Your account-level notification settings can additionally silence community push notifications entirely.
Things to watch out for
- You can't edit a member's post or comment — only delete it. Editing is limited to your own.
- These notification toggles affect your alerts only. Members always receive community notifications; their only control is their phone's push setting for the app.
- Reactions to comments don't notify anyone. Only reactions to threads notify the thread's author, and repeated reactions to the same thread roll up into a single unread alert.
- No one is ever notified about their own action.
