How do I post threads, polls, and pinned posts in a community?

Post to a community feed with text, photos, video, and voice notes, run a poll with up to 10 options, and pin a post to the top.

Posts in a community are called threads, and they live on the community's Threads tab on the web dashboard. A thread can carry text, photos, a video, a voice note, and — for you only — a poll.

Post a thread in a community

  1. Open the community's Threads tab and type in the composer.
  2. Optionally attach content with the buttons below the composer: Photo, Video, Poll, or Voice.
  3. Click the send button to post.

A thread needs at least something — text, an attachment, or a poll — before it can be posted. Every member is notified when a new thread goes up, and your posts carry a Coach badge in the feed.

What a thread can contain

ContentRules
TextUp to 5,000 characters when posting
PhotosUp to 6 per thread, JPG, PNG, or WebP, 10 MB each
VideoOne per thread, up to 400 MB — processed after upload, so it can take a moment before it plays
Voice noteOne per thread, recorded in the browser, up to 3 minutes
PollOne per thread, coach-only

Run a poll

Polls are coach-only. Members can vote but can't create them.

  1. In the thread composer, click Poll.
  2. Write the question and between 2 and 10 options.
  3. Optionally allow multiple votes, so members can pick more than one option.
  4. Optionally set an end date — the date picker asks for a time at least 24 hours out, and voting closes at that moment for everyone at once.
  5. Create the poll and post the thread.

The poll shows each option's vote count and percentage on the thread, and you can open the voters list to see exactly who voted for what.

Voting for an option you already chose removes that vote. On a single-choice poll, picking a new option moves your vote; on a multiple-vote poll, votes accumulate.

Pin a post to the top of the feed

Open the menu on any thread and choose Pin post. Pinned threads sit at the top of the feed, with everything else newest first below them, until you choose Unpin post. Members see a "Pinned by coach" label on it.

You can pin any thread — yours or a member's. Only coaches can pin.

Things to watch out for

  • Editing a poll after voting has started is risky. Removing the last option discards its votes, and removing an earlier option can mis-assign the surviving votes to the wrong options. Avoid removing options once people have voted.
  • Once a poll's end date passes, voting closes for everyone. The poll stays visible with its final counts, but new votes and vote changes are rejected.
  • The photo picker offers GIF, but GIF uploads fail with an error. Stick to JPG, PNG, or WebP.
  • Poll numbers refresh when the feed is reloaded, not live as other people vote.
