Fitsly sends you a push notification for three payment events. Each one also sends an email when the matching email option is enabled in your notification settings.
Notifications you receive
| Event | What you get |
|---|---|
| A client payment succeeds — one-time purchase, first subscription charge, or renewal | Payment received push with the client, amount, and package, plus an email if payment emails are enabled |
| Someone subscribes to a package | New subscription push (plus email if enabled), including the trial end date when the package has a trial |
| A client cancels their own plan from the client app | Cancellation push (plus email if enabled) |
| A $0 payment, such as a free-trial start | Nothing |
| A client payment fails | Nothing |
Why a free trial doesn't send a payment notification
Trial signups charge $0, and $0 payments never trigger a payment notification. You get the New subscription notification instead, with the trial end date included — for a trial signup that's the only signal until the first real charge succeeds, which does send a payment notification.
Why failed payments stay silent
Failed payments don't notify you. Stripe retries the charge automatically on its own schedule, and the subscription shows as past due in the meantime.
To find them, check Payments → Subscriptions, or open a package and use the Past due filter tab on its Subscribers list. Failed invoices in a subscriber's payment history show Stripe's next automatic retry date, and you can retry the charge yourself from there.
Which cancellations notify you
The cancellation notification fires specifically when a client cancels their own plan from the client app. Cancellations you make yourself — from the subscriber drawer, the Subscriptions row menu, or a client's Payments tab — are your own action, so watch the subscription's status there rather than waiting for an alert.
Turn payment emails on or off
The emails that accompany these push notifications follow the payment email option in your notification settings. Turn it off if you only want the push alerts.
Things to watch out for
- Notifications aren't a substitute for the Subscriptions list. Silence can mean nothing happened, or it can mean a payment failed. Check the list rather than assuming.
- Payments is web-only. You'll get the push on your phone, but the subscriber, refund, and payout actions it points at are on the web dashboard.
- Team members don't see payments at all. The Payments menu is hidden for them, so payment follow-up sits with the account owner.
