Kahunas alternatives: 7 platforms worth switching to

Kahunas Ultimate is $99 a month for unlimited clients with your own app listing. Here is what each alternative gives you for the money.

Most coaches searching for a Kahunas alternative are sitting on Essentials or Growth and have hit either the client cap or a feature that lives on the tier above. That matters, because the fix is sometimes one tier up, and sometimes a platform that does not put features on tiers at all.

This article covers what Kahunas charges, what the jump to Ultimate buys, and the specific situations where another platform fits. Every competitor figure is a list price taken from that platform's own published pricing as of September 2026.

What Kahunas charges

Three plans, each with a client ceiling, and annual billing saves 25%.

PlanUSD
PlanMonthly (USD)Annual (USD)Clients
Essentials$35$315up to 25
Growth$69$621up to 50
Ultimate$99$900unlimited

Ultimate includes branded iOS and Android apps published under the coach's own App Store and Google Play listings, plus group messaging and the Zapier or Make connections. Essentials already carries a food database with 800,000 barcodes, micronutrients and a TDEE calculator, a content vault and voice-note messaging. Essentials and Growth run on the standard Kahunas app, with no custom branding.

What Ultimate's $99 buys

$99 a month for unlimited clients with a store listing under your own name is the cheapest published route to a white-label app of any platform we have priced, as of September 2026. Fitsly's is $199 a month on top of the plan, so $268 at 50 clients; FitBudd Super Pro is $149 plus $2 per client above 20, so $209 at 50; My PT Hub's is a $225 a month add-on on Premium; Hubfit's is on a $469 Enterprise tier; Trainerize's separate store listing is on Studio Plus from $275; Everfit does not publish a price. If the app under your own name is what you sell and your roster is growing, Ultimate is priced well for that job, and a switch means asking every client to delete an app with your name on it and going back through Apple and Google review on the other side.

Ultimate is also where three other things live: group messaging, the Zapier and Make connections, and any branding at all in the client app. A lot of coaches on Growth are looking at the $99 for one of those rather than for the app. That is the case worth thinking about, because a platform that includes them on every plan changes the arithmetic.

The real decision point is the jump from Growth to Ultimate

Growth caps at 50 clients. The moment you sign client 51, your options are Ultimate at $99 or a different platform, and $99 is where a handful of other platforms become directly comparable.

At 50 to 100 clients, on published monthly prices as of September 2026:

Platform and planUSD
Platform and planMonthly (USD)Clients covered
Hubfit Premium$69100
Kahunas Ultimate$99Unlimited
Fitsly$99 at 75, $159 at 125Tiered, every feature included
My PT Hub Premium$105Unlimited
Everfit Pro at 100$140100
Trainerize Proto $135 at 50 clients, before add-onsLadder to 200

Hubfit Premium undercuts Ultimate at that band, and Fitsly matches it at 75 clients. Neither includes a store listing under your own name at that price, which is the trade you are making. If you do not want a branded app — and plenty of coaches do not, because it adds a review cycle and an update process to a business that runs fine without one — then paying $99 for a plan whose headline inclusion is the app is worth a second look.

The other thing to check before you move is what sits on which tier. Group messaging, branding and Zapier or Make are Ultimate-only on Kahunas. If those are why you are upgrading rather than the client cap, compare against platforms that include them lower down, because a tier-gating problem is easy to swap for the same problem with different labels.

When an alternative genuinely fits

Five situations. Each is a specific circumstance, not a verdict on Kahunas.

You want every feature on every plan, and the coach app to do all of it

Fitsly prices on active client count only and puts every feature on every tier: $39 a month for 20 clients, $69 for 50, $99 for 75, $159 for 125, $229 for 200 and $419 for 500, as of September 2026. Annual billing is ten months for the price of twelve. Nutrition, payments, check-in forms, habits, automations, group messaging, sub-coaches and your own branding in the client app are on the $39 plan and every plan above it, so the bill only moves when your roster does. Group messaging and your own branding, which Kahunas reserves for Ultimate, are on Fitsly's entry plan.

The second thing coaches who have moved across tell us they notice is the coach app. On iOS and Android it does everything the web version does: build and assign a program, write a meal plan, review a week of check-ins, take a payment, set up an automation, message a client. The work that used to wait for a laptop gets done between sessions. They also tell us a week of check-ins takes less time, because the form, the photos, the week's training and the food log sit on one screen.

Where that leaves it against Kahunas: at 50 clients the two are $69 each. Above that Fitsly steps up where Ultimate stays at $99, and a store listing under your own name is $199 a month on Fitsly against included on Ultimate. Nutrition is level, since Essentials already has a food database with micronutrients. There is no in-platform video calling on Fitsly; coaches run calls on whatever they already use. What the plan buys at every step is the full product, with nothing a tier away, on your phone as much as on your desk.

You need one-to-one video calling inside the platform

Trainerize sells a Video Coaching add-on at $10 a month that includes 50 hours of calling and 100 hours of streaming, on top of the base plan. That base plan is a ladder: Free for one client, Grow at $10 for up to two, Pro from $25 up to $135 at 50 clients, then Studio Plus from $275 for up to 500 members.

Trainerize also charges separately for the things most platforms bundle — Advanced Nutrition Coaching is $20 a month on the lower Pro rungs and $45 from Pro 30 up, the Business add-on covering scheduling, referrals and payments is $25, and Stripe Integrated Payments is $10. At 50 clients with all of those, the bill is $215 a month. The full breakdown is in the Trainerize pricing article.

Most coaches run calls on Zoom or Google Meet next to whatever platform they use, and that costs nothing. Only chase in-platform calling if you have a reason it has to be in the same app.

You are running structured automations at volume

Everfit's Pro plan is $19 a month at five clients, $49 at 20, $95 at 50, $140 at 100 and $160 at 125. Autoflow, its automation product, is from $29 a month on top, and On-Demand Collections is from $25. Both are included on Studio, which starts at $105 for 50 clients and runs to $325 at 300. Annual billing saves 16% and there is a free tier.

At 50 clients Pro plus Autoflow is $124 against Kahunas Growth at $69, so this is not a cost move. It is a move you make when onboarding sequences, challenges and on-demand content are the product rather than a convenience. The Everfit pricing breakdown has the whole ladder and both add-ons.

Your roster is going past 100 and you want the bill to stop moving

Kahunas Ultimate is already flat and uncapped, so this only applies if $99 is more than you want to spend on a plan whose branded app you are not using.

Hubfit Premium is $69 a month for up to 100 clients and includes payments, custom branding inside the Hubfit app, automation and their meal and workout AI. Ultimate is $119 to 100 clients, then a per-client rate from $1.19 down to $0.84 as you scale to 500. Annual billing on either gives two months free.

My PT Hub Premium is unlimited clients with unlimited workouts and nutrition plans at $105 a month on their US pricing page, as of September 2026, so it sits just above Ultimate rather than below it. Their Ultimate tier at $329 bundles every add-on including white label — the My PT Hub alternatives comparison covers where that lands.

You have 25 clients and want your branding in front of them now

Kahunas puts every kind of branding on Ultimate. If your roster is small, that means paying for unlimited clients to get your logo in the app.

Fitsly includes your name, logo and colours in the client app, the emails and your public forms and payment pages on every plan, from $39 for 20 clients. Clients download the Fitsly app and see your brand inside it; the separate store listing is the $199 add-on.

PT Distinction includes a custom-branded Android and iOS app on Pro at $59.90 a month for 25 clients, and on Master at $89.90 for 50. Extra clients are $2.40 and $1.60 a month respectively. Billing is monthly only with no annual contract, there is a one-month free trial, and extra clients are free for the first month. Their own blog describes the iOS app as listed under PT Distinction's "Online Personal Training" name and taking your branding after login, while the Android app carries your own name, as of September 2026 — the PT Distinction alternatives comparison goes through the same question.

FitBudd's Super Pro at $149 a month plus $2 per client above 20 does publish your own app to both stores. At 25 clients that is $159, which is above Kahunas Ultimate, so it only makes sense if something else about the platform fits better.

Whichever you pick, publishing independently to the App Store needs an Apple Developer account at $99 a year paid to Apple. That is true of every platform here, Kahunas included.

The same as Growth, with group messaging, your own branding, payments, automations, forms, habits and sub-coaches included, and the same product on the coach app for iOS and Android.

The branded-app column is measuring two different things. "Custom branding" is your logo and colours inside the vendor's app, which clients still download under the vendor's name; a store listing under your own name is a separate product and priced separately everywhere. If a listing under your own name is the reason you are shopping, ask that question first and take the answer in writing.

What switching actually costs

The export is the easy part. The work is the clients.

Programs, templates and check-in forms get rebuilt. Every client downloads a new app and sets up a new login, and that is where a migration loses people. If you are on Ultimate with your own listing, it is more work: you are asking clients to delete an app with your name on it and install one that looks like a different business, and you are starting a fresh App Store and Play review on the other side.

Move between program blocks rather than mid-block, give clients a week of notice, and rebuild your three most-used templates before you invite anyone across. The full process is in how to migrate clients to a new coaching platform.

Then check the arithmetic. Saving $30 a month is $360 a year, and losing two clients at $200 a month during the move costs you more than that inside ten weeks.

How to decide

Three questions, in order.

Is the branded app part of what you sell? If yes, price the whole product and not just the listing: what Ultimate gives you at $99 against what a platform with every feature on every plan gives you at your client count, with the listing on top.

Is the thing pushing you the client cap or a missing capability? If it is the cap and you do not need the app, Hubfit Premium at $69 for 100 clients is below Ultimate and Fitsly is level with it at 75. If it is a capability, name it — group messaging, an automation, your branding, video calling — and check which tier of each platform actually has it. On Fitsly the answer is every tier.

Is your must-have on the tier your client count puts you on? This is the failure that repeats across the whole category. A cheaper base plan is no help when the feature you moved for is two tiers up, and that is exactly the problem you would be leaving.

Most of these platforms run a trial with full feature access — Kahunas, Fitsly, Hubfit, PT Distinction and My PT Hub all do, generally two weeks to a month. Rebuild one program and run a real check-in cycle inside it, from your phone, before you commit. If Fitsly ends up on the list, the client-count ladder and what each step includes are on the pricing page.
