Before you shortlist a replacement, work out what is actually wrong. PT Distinction is $89.90 USD a month for 50 clients, and its Pro and Master plans include a custom-branded iOS and Android app at no extra charge. Coaches who go looking for an alternative usually have one of three reasons: the per-client bill has grown past what a flat plan would cost, there is a tool they need that they cannot get, or they want a standalone app under their own name in the App Store — which, as it turns out, is not what the included app is.
This article covers what PT Distinction costs, what its branded app actually is, the situations where a different platform genuinely fits, and which one fits which situation. All competitor figures are list prices from each platform's own pricing page as of September 2026.
What PT Distinction charges
Three plans, monthly billing only, each with an included client count and a per-client rate above it.
| Plan | Monthly (USD) | Included clients | Each extra client |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $19.90 | 3 | $6.00/mo |
| Pro | $59.90 | 25 | $2.40/mo |
| Master | $89.90 | 50 | $1.60/mo |
There is a one-month free trial, extra clients are free for the first month, and there is no annual contract — cancel in the first month and you pay nothing. All three tiers include selling packages and taking payments, integrations and pre-made templates. Basic uses the PT Distinction-branded apps; Pro and Master include the coach's own branded Android and iOS app.
What the included branded app actually is
"Branded app" covers two different products, and every platform in this article uses the words loosely. Custom branding is your logo, colours and name inside the vendor's app, which clients still download from the store under the vendor's name. White label is a standalone app in the App Store and Google Play under your own name, with no vendor branding anywhere.
PT Distinction's is custom branding on iOS and something closer to white label on Android. Its own blog says that on iOS the app is named "Online Personal Training" in the App Store and takes on your logo, icon and colours after a client logs in, and that on Android the app carries your own name and store placing, published by PT Distinction. There is no own-name App Store listing at any PT Distinction price, as of 11 September 2026. If your clients are mostly on iPhones and you want your name in the store, that is a real gap, and it is the one most coaches searching this page have not yet noticed.
Here is what the alternatives sell, on the same two definitions.
Fitsly includes custom branding on every plan, including the $39 one: your business name, logo and colours through the client app, the automated emails and your invite links. Its white label add-on is $199 a month on any plan and produces a standalone app on both stores under your own name and developer accounts. Kahunas puts its own-name store listings into the $99 Ultimate plan. FitBudd's Super Pro publishes your own app at $149 plus $2 per client over 20, with a $75 non-refundable setup fee. My PT Hub sells custom branding as a $145 one-time add-on and white label at $225 a month on top of the plan. Trainerize's $169 one-time Pro Custom Branded App gives you your own Google Play listing but the shared Trainerize app on iOS; the tier with a real listing on both stores is Studio Plus from $275 a month. Everfit's white label is Enterprise only, for 500 clients and up, price not published. Hubfit includes custom branding on Premium; its white label is an Enterprise tier at $469 a month.
Against all of that, PT Distinction's $89.90 with branding included is a low number, and it should be weighed honestly. What it does not buy is your name in the App Store, and the platforms that do sell that sit between $99 (Kahunas) and $469 (Hubfit) a month, with Fitsly's $199 at the mid-point.
Switching costs you a rebuild of your programs and templates, and every client has to download a new app and set up a new login. That is the point where a switch loses people, so it has to buy something real:
- A lower bill at the roster you will have in a year, not the one you have today.
- A tool you cannot get where you are — a food database, automations, a coach app that does the whole job from your phone, your own name on the App Store.
- One plan with everything on it, so the next feature you sell does not come with a new line item.
The monthly-only billing is part of the same picture. PT Distinction's price is the price and you can leave with a month's notice, which is also why a move is cheap to test: the month you spend trialling an alternative costs you nothing on the PT Distinction side.
This article states only what we have verified from PT Distinction's own published pricing and blog. It does not list things PT Distinction supposedly cannot do, because we have not checked them. Test the gaps you care about inside your own account.
Where the per-extra-client model starts to bite
The Master plan's $1.60 per extra client is cheap per head. What it is not is capped. Run the published rate out past the included 50:
| Active clients | PT Distinction Master (USD/mo) | Fitsly (USD/mo) |
|---|---|---|
| 50 | $89.90 | $69 |
| 100 | $169.90 | $159 (125-client tier) |
| 150 | $249.90 | $229 (200-client tier) |
| 200 | $329.90 | $229 |
| 300 | $489.90 | $419 (500-client tier) |
The PT Distinction column is arithmetic on the published rate, not a quoted price, and there may be a volume arrangement above a certain size that is not on the pricing page.
Below about 30 clients the per-client model is cheaper than anything with a tier floor, and that is PT Distinction's real advantage. It is also cheaper for a stretch just past each Fitsly tier boundary — at 55 clients, say, or 80 — because Fitsly's next tier has not filled yet. At the counts in that table and most in between, Fitsly is cheaper, and the number on the Fitsly side already includes nutrition, check-in forms, habits, payments, automations, messaging, a content vault and your branding in the client app. There is nothing to add on, so the gap you see is the gap you get.
The number that matters is the one against your revenue. At 200 clients paying $150 a month each, a $330 platform bill is about 1% of revenue. The reason to look at a flat-rate or tiered platform at that size is usually that you are also running sub-coaches, group programs or a second brand, and a per-head meter stops being a clean measure of what you are paying for.
When an alternative genuinely fits
Five situations. Each is a specific circumstance, not a general verdict.
You want everything on one plan, and to run it from your phone
This is the case for Fitsly. Every feature is on every tier: the workout builder and exercise library, meal plans with a food database and recipes, habits, check-in forms, progress photos and measurements, lead capture, payments and packages, one-to-one and group messaging, a community feed, a content vault, automations, Apple Health sync and sub-coaches. The $39 plan for 20 clients has exactly what the $419 plan for 500 has, so the price only ever moves for headcount.
The coach app does the whole job on iOS and Android — build and assign a program, write a meal plan, review a week of check-ins, take a payment, set up an automation — rather than a summary that sends you to a laptop for the real work. Coaches who train in person all day tell us that is the change they notice first: the admin that used to wait for the evening gets done between sessions. And coaches who have moved from platforms with more screens tell us a week of check-ins takes noticeably less time to get through, because the form, the photos, the training and the food log are on one screen with the reply box under them. Fitsly does not have in-platform video calling; coaches who run calls use Zoom or Google Meet alongside it.
You are past 100 clients and want the bill to stop tracking headcount
Two platforms charge a flat rate with no client cap.
Kahunas Ultimate is $99 a month for unlimited clients as of September 2026, and it includes the coach's own branded iOS and Android apps with their own store listings, plus group messaging and Zapier or Make integration. Annual billing saves 25%. At 100 clients that is $70 a month less than the PT Distinction arithmetic above; at 300 it is roughly $390 a month less. More on how it stacks up in the Kahunas alternatives comparison.
My PT Hub Premium is $105 a month on their US pricing page as of September 2026, with unlimited clients, workouts and nutrition plans. Starter is $40 for three clients, and Ultimate at $329 bundles every add-on including white label. Premium overtakes PT Distinction's arithmetic at around 60 clients and stays flat from there — see the My PT Hub alternatives comparison for the detail.
Fitsly's tiers are not flat, but they are wide: $229 covers 200 clients and $419 covers 500, which is $100 and $370 a month respectively under the PT Distinction rate.
You want annual billing to bring the monthly number down
PT Distinction is monthly only. That is a genuine advantage if you want to be able to walk away with a month's notice, and a genuine disadvantage if you are happy to commit for a year in exchange for a discount.
The annual discounts on offer as of September 2026:
On a $90 monthly bill a 20% discount is about $215 a year — enough to notice, not enough on its own to move clients for.
You need one-to-one video calling inside the platform
If calls are part of what you sell and you want them in the same app your clients already have, Trainerize's Video Coaching add-on is $10 a month and includes 50 hours of calling and 100 hours of streaming. That sits on top of the base plan — at 50 clients, Pro 50 is $135 a month before add-ons, and the full Trainerize pricing breakdown covers how the add-on stack builds from there.
Most coaches run calls on Zoom or Google Meet alongside whatever platform they use.
You want a free tier to test on, or you have two clients
If you want to run a platform at zero cost while you decide, Everfit and Trainerize both have permanent free tiers, and Trainerize's Grow plan is $10 a month for up to two clients.
Everfit's paid ladder starts at $19 a month for five clients and runs to $160 for 125 on Pro, with Autoflow automation as a $29 add-on — the Everfit pricing breakdown has the full ladder. At 50 clients, Pro plus Autoflow is $124 against PT Distinction's $89.90, so the free tier is the reason to look, not the price at a full roster.
The seven platforms compared
Every figure is a list price as of September 2026, at 50 active clients, on monthly billing. The last two columns use the definitions above: custom branding is your brand inside the vendor's app; white label is your own name in the stores.
| Platform | 50 clients (USD/mo) | How it scales | Custom branding | White label (own store listing) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PT Distinction Master | $89.90 | +$1.60 per extra client, no cap | Included on Pro and Master | Android only; iOS listed as "Online Personal Training" |
| Fitsly | $69 | Tiers: $159 at 125, $229 at 200, $419 at 500 | Included, every plan | $199/mo add-on, both stores |
| Hubfit Premium | $69 | Covers 100; Ultimate $119 then per client to 500 | Included on Premium | Enterprise, $469/mo |
| Kahunas Ultimate | $99 | Flat, unlimited clients | Not offered | Included, both stores |
| My PT Hub Premium | $105 | Flat, unlimited clients | $145 one-time | $225/mo add-on; bundled in Ultimate at $329 |
| Everfit Pro + Autoflow | $124 | Pro to $160 at 125; Studio to $325 at 300 | Included on Pro and Studio | Enterprise only, 500+ clients, not published |
| FitBudd | $139 (Pro) | +$2 per client over 20 | Pro, included | Super Pro $209 + $75 setup |
| Trainerize Pro 50 + add-ons | $215 | Pro ladder to 200; Studio Plus from $275 | $169 one-time; own Play listing, shared iOS app | Studio Plus, $275/mo, 500-seat minimum |
Read the last two columns alongside the price column. At 50 clients without a white label app, Fitsly, Hubfit Premium and Kahunas Growth are all $69 against PT Distinction's $89.90 — and of those three, Fitsly is the one with every feature on the plan and the coach app doing the whole job. If your own name in both stores is the reason you are shopping, the published options run from Kahunas at $99 to Hubfit at $469, with Fitsly at $268 all in.
What switching actually costs
The export is the easy part. The work is the clients.
Your programs, templates and check-in forms have to be rebuilt or re-imported. Every client needs to download a new app and set up a new login, and each of those is a chance for someone to not bother. If your clients have an app with your name on it on Android, moving means asking them to delete it and install a different one. On a platform that includes custom branding on every plan, what they install still carries your name, logo and colours inside it, which makes that conversation easier.
Do it between program blocks rather than mid-block, give clients a week of notice, and rebuild your three most-used templates before you invite anyone across. The full process is in how to migrate clients to a new coaching platform.
If you are moving because of cost, work out the annual difference first. Saving $30 a month is $360 a year, and losing two clients at $200 a month in the migration costs you more than that in ten weeks.
How to decide
Three questions, in order.
Where will your roster be in a year? Under about 30 clients, PT Distinction's per-client rate is lower than any platform with a tier floor. From 30 up, Fitsly is cheaper at most counts on the published rates, and past 100 the flat-rate platforms pull further ahead. Price it at next year's number, not today's.
Is there a capability you need that you cannot get where you are? Name it specifically — a food database, automations, a coach app that does everything from your phone, your own name on the App Store. If you cannot name one, you have a preference, not a requirement, and preferences are not worth a migration.
Are you comparing like with like on the app? A re-skinned shared app, a custom-themed client app and your own store listing are three different products that are all marketed as branded apps, and PT Distinction's is a different one on each store.
Most platforms here run a free trial of two weeks to a month with the full feature set, which is enough to rebuild one program and run a real check-in cycle. Our own pricing will tell you the number; only your own week of work will tell you whether the tool fits.
