TrueCoach alternatives: 7 platforms worth switching to

Seven TrueCoach alternatives compared on nutrition, wearables, automations and pricing model, with who each one suits.

Most coaches who look for a TrueCoach alternative are not unhappy with the programming. They have hit one of two walls: nutrition runs through a MyFitnessPal integration rather than a food database inside the platform, or the thing they need — wearable data, automations, a branded app — sits on a tier above the one they are on.

This article covers seven platforms worth looking at, what each one actually gives you that TrueCoach does not, and which coach each one suits. If your only complaint is the price, read the next section before you start migrating clients, because the pricing model is the thing most coaches on TrueCoach like, and not every alternative keeps it.

What TrueCoach gets right, and why that matters before you switch

TrueCoach sells one thing per tier and does not charge extra for features. Their own FAQ answers the add-on question with "Nope, what you see is what you get." That is unusual in this category and it is the reason a lot of coaches stay. Trainerize charges separately for nutrition, payments, scheduling and video calling. Everfit charges separately for automation and on-demand content. On TrueCoach the plan price is the bill.

Check what the base plan includes before you move

If the reason you are shopping is that you resent add-on charges, some of the platforms below will make that worse rather than better. Two keep the bill equal to the number on the page: TrueCoach, and Fitsly, where every feature is on every plan. For the rest, add the line items you would actually use before you compare a tier price.

The three tiers are Starter, Standard and Pro, at $29.98, $69.98 and $164.98 a month on monthly billing, as of September 2026. Starter covers up to five active clients, Standard up to 20 and Pro up to 50; there is no published price above that, and the FAQ directs coaches with more than 250 clients to custom pricing. Starter does not include wearables integration or the custom-branded app, and Zapier automations are on Pro only. There is a 3,000-plus exercise video library, a 14-day free trial, and a 90-day money-back guarantee on first annual subscriptions. Clients pay nothing on any tier.

A note on TrueCoach pricing

TrueCoach's pricing page shows the annual-billing figures by default — $26.34, $57.99 and $136.99. The monthly prices above are what you pay without a twelve-month commitment. The same default exists across the category, which is why every number in this article carries a date and is stated on monthly billing.

The comparison that matters is not the sticker anyway. It is what the plan includes at your client count, and whether the tier that has your must-have feature is the tier that has your client count.

Kahunas: unlimited clients and your own app listing

Kahunas prices in three steps: Essentials at $35 USD a month for up to 25 clients, Growth at $69 for up to 50, and Ultimate at $99 for unlimited clients, as of September 2026. Annual billing saves 25%.

Ultimate includes branded iOS and Android apps published under the coach's own App Store and Google Play listings, plus group messaging and Zapier or Make. Essentials already includes a food database with 800,000 barcodes, micronutrients and a TDEE calculator, a content vault and voice-note messaging.

Who it suits: a coach with a large or growing roster who wants a real branded app without a separate monthly add-on. $99 for unlimited clients is the cheapest published route to an own-name store listing of anything here.

The trade-off: the automations and the branded app both sit on the top tier, so the gating problem you have on TrueCoach does not disappear, it just moves — and Essentials and Growth use the generic Kahunas app with no custom branding. More on the alternatives to Kahunas itself is in our Kahunas alternatives guide.

My PT Hub: a flat rate with no client cap

My PT Hub's US pricing page lists Starter at $40 USD a month for three clients, Premium at $105 for unlimited clients with unlimited workouts and nutrition plans, and Ultimate at $329 with every add-on bundled including white label, as of September 2026.

The point of difference is Premium: the same price at 10 clients or 200. They market that explicitly against per-client pricing, and for a coach who grew out of TrueCoach's tier ladder it is the most direct answer to the problem.

Who it suits: a coach who is adding clients quickly and does not want the bill to step up every time they cross a threshold.

The trade-off: the branded app is priced separately. Custom branding — an icon swap after login, still inside the My PT Hub app — is a $145 one-time add-on, and a true white label under your own name is a $225 a month add-on on Premium, $330 all in, or bundled into Ultimate at $329. We cover the wider field in our My PT Hub alternatives guide.

Hubfit: the cheapest full feature set at a mid-size roster

Hubfit is $39 USD a month for Standard with up to 50 clients, $69 for Premium with up to 100, and $119 for Ultimate, which scales to 500 clients on a per-client rate from $1.19 down to $0.84, as of September 2026. Annual billing gives two months free.

Standard covers the workout builder, a nutrition and macros planner and a vault. Payments, custom branding and automation start at Premium. At 100 clients Hubfit Premium is $69 a month, which is less than most platforms charge for half that roster.

Who it suits: a coach carrying 50 to 100 clients who wants nutrition built in and is choosing mainly on cost.

The trade-off: payments and branding are not on the entry tier, so the honest comparison for a full-service coach is Premium rather than Standard. A standalone app under your own name is Enterprise only, at $469 a month with a waitlist, as of September 2026.

PT Distinction: a branded app included, not added on

PT Distinction charges $19.90 USD a month for Basic with three clients, $59.90 for Pro with 25, and $89.90 for Master with 50, as of September 2026. Extra clients are billed individually — $6.00 a month each on Basic, $2.40 on Pro, $1.60 on Master. It is monthly only with no annual contract, and there is a one-month free trial.

Pro and Master include a custom-branded Android and iOS app at no extra charge. Basic does not have custom branding at all — those apps carry PT Distinction's name. Be clear about what the branded app is: PT Distinction's own blog states the iOS app is listed in the App Store under a generic name and takes your branding after the client logs in, while the Android app carries your name but is published by PT Distinction.

Who it suits: a coach who wants their branding in front of clients and does not want to pay a separate monthly fee for it. At $89.90 for 50 clients it is the closest platform on price to Fitsly's $69, and the branded app is included rather than charged. Fitsly includes the same thing — your logo and colours in the client app — on every plan at no cost; its $199 white label is the separate step to your own listing on both stores.

The trade-off: the per-client charge above your included count means the bill moves every time your roster does, which is the opposite of what a flat-rate platform gives you. There is more detail in our PT Distinction alternatives guide.

Everfit: the deepest automation, sold as an add-on

Everfit's Pro plan runs $19 USD a month at five clients, $49 at 20, $95 at 50 and $160 at 125, as of September 2026. Studio starts at $105 for 50 clients and reaches $325 at 300. Annual billing saves 16%, and there is a free tier.

Autoflow, Everfit's automation product, is from $29 a month on top of Pro, and On-Demand Collections is from $25. Both are included on Studio. White label sits on Enterprise, for 500 or more clients, at a price on application.

Who it suits: a coach running structured onboarding sequences, challenges and on-demand content at volume, where automation is the product rather than a convenience.

The trade-off: this is the add-on model TrueCoach avoids. At 50 clients Pro plus Autoflow is $124 a month, which is a real increase over TrueCoach's Standard-and-below simplicity. If add-on pricing is what you are running from, start with our Everfit alternatives guide before you commit.

FitBudd: your own store listing at a mid-tier price

FitBudd is $15 USD a month for Starter with two clients, $79 for Pro with 20, and $149 for Super Pro with 20, as of September 2026, with extra clients at $4 a month on Starter and $2 on the other two. Yearly billing gives two months free.

Starter uses the FitBudd-branded client app. Pro adds custom theming. Super Pro is the tier that publishes your own app on iOS and Android, with a $75 non-refundable setup fee. At 50 clients that works out at $139 a month on Pro or $209 on Super Pro with your own app.

Who it suits: a coach who wants a genuine store listing at a mid-size roster. At 50 clients FitBudd's Super Pro at $209 is cheaper than Fitsly's equivalent, which is the $69 plan plus the $199 a month white label — $268. What the difference buys on Fitsly is the full product under the app: nutrition, payments, automations and forms on every plan, and a coach app that does all of it.

The trade-off: the per-client charge applies from 20 clients up on every tier, so the price at 100 or 200 clients climbs steadily rather than stepping.

Fitsly: every feature on every tier, and the whole job on your phone

Fitsly prices on active client count only, with every feature on every tier: $39 USD a month for 20 clients, $69 for 50, $99 for 75, $159 for 125, $229 for 200 and $419 for 500, as of September 2026. Annual billing is ten months for the price of twelve.

That includes the things TrueCoach gates or routes elsewhere. Nutrition is a built-in verified food database with barcode logging, custom foods, recipes and multi-day meal plans, rather than a MyFitnessPal integration, so what a client logs and what you assigned live in the same place. Apple Health sync, automations, payments, check-in forms, habits, group messaging, sub-coaches and your own logo and colours in the client app are on the $39 tier and every tier above it. The $39 plan for 20 clients has exactly what the $419 plan for 500 has. There is one add-on and it is not a feature: white label at $199 a month, which publishes a standalone app under your own name and developer accounts on both stores. Against the field above, that sits in the middle — Kahunas bundles it for less, My PT Hub and Hubfit charge more, and TrueCoach does not sell one.

The other thing coaches raise is the coach app. On iOS and Android it does everything: build and assign a program, write a meal plan, review a week of check-ins, take a payment, set up an automation, message a client. Coaches who have moved from platforms with a lighter mobile app tell us that is the change they notice first — the admin that used to wait for a laptop gets done between sessions. The second thing they mention is how little the check-in review takes: the form, the photos, the week's training and the food log are on one screen, so the reply is written in the time it used to take to find the data.

Who it suits: a coach who sells nutrition alongside training and does not want it to depend on a third-party app, who wants wearable data and automations without a tier upgrade, and who does most of the work from a phone.

The trade-off: Fitsly is not the cheapest option at a large roster — at 100 clients or more, My PT Hub Premium, Hubfit and Kahunas Ultimate all cost less. What the coach gets for the difference is one number that depends only on client count, with nothing to stack and no tier to move to for a feature. Fitsly has no in-platform video calling; coaches run calls on whatever they already use.

Comparing the models

Prices move and tier names change; the model is what you are actually choosing between. Branded apps are split into the two things vendors mean by the phrase: your logo inside their app, and a standalone app under your own name on the stores.

How to actually choose

Write down the one thing that made you open this article, then check which tier of each platform has it. That is the whole exercise. A platform that includes wearables on every plan is no help if its client cap forces you onto a tier you cannot justify, and a cheaper base plan is no help if your must-have feature is two tiers up.

Then check the switching cost honestly. Programs and templates get rebuilt, every client downloads a new app and sets up a new login, and that is where a migration loses people. Do it between program blocks, tell clients a week out, and rebuild your three most-used templates before you invite anyone across. Most of these platforms have a trial long enough to run one full check-in cycle first — TrueCoach's is 14 days, PT Distinction gives a month, Hevy Coach gives 30 days — and that cycle tells you more than any comparison table. Run as much of it as you can from your phone, because that is where the work will happen between sessions.

If Fitsly is on your shortlist, the client-count ladder and what is included at each step are on the pricing page.

Frequently asked questions

Why do coaches leave TrueCoach?

The two common reasons are nutrition and tier gating. Nutrition runs through a MyFitnessPal integration rather than a food database inside the platform, so client logging happens in another app. And wearables integration is on Standard and Pro only, while Zapier automations are Pro only, so a coach on a lower tier has to upgrade to reach them.

One price, every feature

Fitsly includes nutrition, payments, forms and automations on every plan. The only thing that changes your bill is how many active clients you have.
