There are two ways to get a habit to a client: bulk-assign one from your Habits library, or build it directly on a single client's profile where you can also set its schedule.
Either way the client gets their own independent copy of the habit, with its own start date and log history. Editing your library habit later never changes a copy a client is already running.
Assign a habit to several clients at once
- On the Habits page, open the row menu on a habit and choose Assign habit.
- Pick the clients — by search, by tag filter, or select-all. You can assign to 20 clients at a time.
- Confirm.
The habit starts today for every selected client. If the habit has a duration set, each copy ends that many days from today; otherwise it runs until you remove it. If the habit has a reminder, reminders begin.
Clients who already have this habit active, and archived clients, don't appear in the picker — so you can't create duplicates.
Add a habit for a single client
- Open the client's profile and go to their Habits tab.
- Click New. Build the habit from scratch, pick one from your Library, or start from a Template.
- Set the schedule — a start date and an optional end date.
- Click Create habit.
The habit appears in the client app from its start date, and reminders begin if you set one.
Schedule and field limits on a client's habit
| Setting | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Start date | The first day the habit is scheduled | Today |
| End date | Optional last day; must be on or after the start | Off (30 days after start when enabled) |
| Habit name | Up to 300 characters | — |
| Description | Up to 1,000 characters | Empty |
| Goal amount | Whole number, minimum 1 | 5 |
Picking a library habit that has a duration pre-fills the end date from it.
Edit a client's habit
Edit it from their Habits tab — the edit button in the habit's detail view, or the weekly view's row menu → Edit habit. Changes to the goal, schedule, or reminder time apply immediately in the client app, and their logged history is kept.
One setting is fixed at creation: Complete with Yes/No can't be changed after a client's habit exists. To switch modes, delete the habit and create it again.
Remove a habit from a client
Use the delete button in the habit's detail view, or the weekly view's row menu → Delete habit.
The habit disappears from the client's habit list and its reminders stop. Days they already logged stay visible in their schedule history and on your side.
Things to watch out for
Deleting a habit from your library doesn't take it away from anyone. Clients who already have it keep it, keep logging it, and keep getting its reminders — remove it from each client's Habits tab instead.
