You can log habit entries on a client's behalf — useful when they tell you in person, or track on paper and hand you the numbers.
There are three places to do it, all on the client's profile in the web dashboard.
Log a habit entry from the Habits tab
- Open the client's profile and go to their Habits tab.
- In the Weekly view, click any day cell. Or open a habit's detail view and use Log habit.
- Set the date, the amount, and — for a Yes/No habit — the answer, with an optional measurement alongside.
- Add a note if you want one, and save.
Future days are blocked in the weekly view's day cells, but once the log form is open you can change its date freely, forward or back.
Log a habit from the calendar or Overview
Click a habit on the client's Calendar, or a habit row under Things to do today on their profile Overview. Both open the quick-log drawer.
The drawer has −/+ steppers, a free-text amount box, and Half and Target quick-fill buttons, and it shows the habit's target, frequency, duration, and reminder. It has no note field and no Yes/No answer, but it can log future scheduled days.
What you can enter
| Field | What it does | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Date | The day the entry counts for | Any day, past or future |
| Amount | The measured value | Up to 2 decimal places |
| Yes/No answer | For Yes/No habits, with an optional measurement | — |
| Note | A note attached to the entry | Not available in the quick-log drawer |
Each habit holds one entry per day. Logging the same day again replaces what was there.
Edit or delete a client's log entry
- In the Weekly view, open a logged cell's menu and choose Edit entry or Delete entry.
- Or use the edit and delete buttons on an entry in the habit detail view's log history.
Editing offers the same fields as logging. Deleting reverts the day to unlogged in the client app.
Things to watch out for
The amount you enter becomes the day's total for that habit. This is different from the client app, where amounts logged during the day add up — a client logging 3 then 5 gets 8, but if you enter 5, the day is 5.
If the client syncs Apple Health, a steps habit or an hours-based sleep habit fills in automatically, and the synced value sets the day's total — replacing anything logged manually for that day.
Only you can delete a log entry. Clients can add and update entries and reset a measurable day to zero, but they can't delete entries or change the habits themselves.
