Every client profile has three lists on General → Coaching: Goals, Notes, and Limitations. Goals are shared with the client. Notes and limitations are private to you.
Add a goal, note, or limitation
- Open the client's profile and go to General → Coaching.
- Pick the list you want — Goals, Notes, or Limitations.
- Add an item, edit an existing one, or delete one.
Each item can be up to 1,000 characters.
| List | Who sees it | Who can edit it |
|---|---|---|
| Goals | You and the client — marked shared | Both of you |
| Notes | You only — marked private | You |
| Limitations | You only — marked private | You |
How shared goals work
Goals are a two-way list. Whatever you add shows up in the client app, and whatever the client adds shows up on their profile. Either of you can add, edit, or delete an item, and you're both always looking at the same list.
On the client's side, goals live on the Progress tab of the client app. The screen tells them their goals are shared with you. A client with no goals yet is offered three suggested starter goals they can adopt with a tap — each one opens the editor pre-filled so they can reword it first.
Goals are free text, 1–1,000 characters.
When to use notes versus limitations
Both lists are private, so the split is about how you want to read them back later:
- Notes — anything you want on hand next session: how they respond to volume, what they're training around at work, what you agreed last time.
- Limitations — injuries, restrictions, and things to program around.
Neither list appears anywhere in the client app, so you can write them for yourself.
Things to watch out for
Because goals are shared both ways, a goal you delete disappears from the client's app too, and a goal they delete disappears from your profile view. If something is for your eyes only, put it in Notes.
If you want a message the client actually sees on their dashboard rather than buried in a goals list, pin a note instead.
Sub-coaches see and manage only the clients assigned to them, so these lists follow the same scoping as the rest of the profile.
