To track body metrics for a client, open the client's profile, go to the Metrics tab, use Manage to enable the metrics you want to track, then open any enabled metric to log, edit, or delete results.
Steps
- From the coach dashboard, open the client you want to track.
- Click the Metrics tab on the client page. You'll land on the Body Metrics view.
- In the left-hand panel, click Manage. This opens the Enabled metrics modal.
- Choose which metrics to track:
- Use the Built-in Metrics section on the left to enable system metrics (weight, body fat, sleep, water intake, resting heart rate, body measurements, and more).
- Use the Custom Metrics section on the right to create your own. Click to add a metric, fill in Body Metric Name and Body Metric Unit, then click Create metric. You can also edit or delete custom metrics from this section.
- Save your selection. The enabled metrics now appear in the left-hand panel under Manage.
- Click any metric in the panel to open its detail view. You'll see a chart of the metric over time and a list of recorded results.
- To add a result, click to log a new result, choose the date, enter the value, and click Save.
- To edit or delete an existing result, open it from the list, then use Save Result or Delete Result.
Can clients log body metrics from the Fitsly client app?
Yes. Clients can log results for the metrics you've enabled by opening the Body Metrics card on the Progress tab of the Fitsly client app, tapping a metric, and tapping Add result. They can also update or delete their own logged results.
Clients cannot enable, disable, or create metrics — that setup stays on the coach side. They can only log values for the metrics you've turned on for them.
Things to watch out for
- The Manage modal is where metric setup lives. To stop tracking a metric, disable it from Built-in Metrics or delete it from Custom Metrics — clients can't remove metrics on their end.
- Custom metrics need both a name and a unit before you can save them.
- Each client has their own list of enabled metrics. Enabling a metric for one client does not enable it for others.
- The chart and results list on a metric's detail view only show results for that single metric — switch metrics in the left-hand panel to view another.
