How do I track body metrics for a client?
See where a client's body metrics come from, log and edit values yourself, and schedule body metric tasks on their calendar.
Body metrics are the client's weight, measurements, and other tracked values. They show on the Metrics tab of the client's profile, and the headline numbers surface on their General → Overview as snapshot tiles — weight and body fat — plus a weight-trend chart.
Metrics reach Fitsly from four places: the client logs them in the client app, a check-in form collects them, a health sync brings in weight, or you enter them yourself.
Ask for body metrics on a scheduled day
- Open the client's profile and go to their Calendar.
- Hover over the day and click its + button.
- Choose Body metrics.
The task is created on that day immediately, and the client sees a "Record your body metrics" card on their schedule. To create a run of them, use the recurring scheduler — see scheduling progress photo and body metric tasks.
Log or edit a client's metrics from the calendar
- On the client's Calendar, click the body metrics chip on a day.
- The body metrics panel opens for that day.
- Enter values and save, or edit and delete existing entries.
Saving values also completes — or uncompletes — that day's task. Anything you add, edit, or delete here changes what the client sees in the app.
Collect body metrics through a check-in form
Add a question with the Body Metric answer type. The answer syncs straight into the client's body metrics, dated to the submission, and completes a body metrics task scheduled for that same day.
| Metric group | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Body composition | Weight, body fat, and similar |
| Measurements | Girths and lengths |
| Vitals & lifestyle | Vitals and lifestyle values |
| Custom | Metrics you've defined — only shown once you have some |
Each Body Metric question maps to exactly one metric. This answer type isn't available on public forms — the answer has to belong to a client account.
Get weight in automatically from health data
If a client syncs Apple Health or Health Connect, their synced weight is written into their Weight progress metric — stored in both kg and lb — so it appears in their metrics alongside the Weight card on their Integrations tab.
Turn body metrics off for a client
Body metrics are one of the ten per-client feature toggles under Settings → Feature Control. The Body Metrics toggle covers weight and measurements, and is on by default. Switching it off hides the feature in their app without deleting anything, and it comes back with its history when you switch it on again.
You get a notification when a client's body metrics change. Weight that arrives from a health sync doesn't send one.
Quick answers
Why isn't the task checked off even though my client logged metrics?
A scheduled body metrics task completes only when metrics are logged for its exact scheduled day. Logging on a different day still saves the values, but leaves the task open.
