New coach accounts go through a four-step welcome wizard before reaching the dashboard. It collects where you're based, a few questions about your coaching, and your plan, then loads demo data so your workspace isn't empty.
The wizard only appears on your own new coach account. Coaches who join as a team member skip it, as do accounts created before the wizard launched. Your answers save step by step, so if you leave partway through you resume at the same step next time you sign in.
The four welcome wizard steps
- Where you're based — choose your country and your preferred units for weight and length. Units default to metric, and the country must be chosen.
- About your coaching — what describes you best, how many clients you have, how you manage them today, and whether you work with other coaches. All four are required.
- How you found Fitsly — required, plus an optional Instagram handle.
- Plan & payment — pick a plan and start your trial.
Pick a plan and start your free trial
On the final step, choose a plan and a billing period — monthly or yearly, where yearly works out to two months free — then add a card and click Start free trial.
Nothing is charged today. The card is saved, and your first payment is only collected when the 14-day trial ends. Cancel before then and you're never billed.
| Rule | Value |
|---|---|
| Trial length | 14 days from signup |
| Clients during the trial | Up to 5 |
| Clients after the trial with no subscription | 0 |
| Charge during the trial | None |
| Yearly billing | 2 months free compared to monthly |
| Referral discount | $20 off your first payment with a valid code |
Every plan includes all the features — the plans differ only in how many clients you can train.
Use a referral code
A referral code field appears on the plan step only when you arrived at signup through another coach's referral link, pre-filled from that link. There's no other place to enter one.
A valid code shows who referred you and deducts $20 from your first charge in the order summary. An unknown code shows "We couldn't find that referral code." One referral per account, and your own code is rejected.
What the demo data import does
Right after the wizard, Fitsly loads demo data behind a "Getting things ready…" screen — sample clients, workouts, programs, results, goals, check-in forms, meal plans, and habits — so you have something to look at while you learn the dashboard.
If the import hits a problem, you can Try again or Skip Import & Go to Dashboard. The import is optional, only ever runs once, and the demo data lives only in your workspace.
Things to watch out for
Adding clients is capped during the trial. Five active or pending clients is the limit until you're on a paid plan. Archived clients don't use a spot.
A banner tracks your subscription status. Above the dashboard you'll see one banner at a time: trial days remaining (dismissable), trial expired, plan cancelled, payment failed, plan ending in N days, or client limit exceeded — each with a link to fix it. Banners never show on messages pages, and sub-coaches never see them.
An expired trial blocks the dashboard. If the trial ends with no active plan, a full-screen plan picker sits in front of the dashboard until you choose one. You can still sign out, and switch workspace if you belong to another coach's team.
