The add-food screen has four tabs: All for the food database, plus My Meals, My Foods, and Saved — your own shortcuts, built up as you log. Scanning a barcode is the fastest way to get a packaged food into the diary.
Scan a barcode
- Tap Scan on a meal card and allow camera access.
- Point the camera at the product barcode. EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, and UPC-E codes are supported.
- When it matches, the log screen opens pre-filled — set your serving and log it.
- If there's no match, scan again or add the food as a custom food yourself.
Barcodes are matched against your country's food market, so a product sold elsewhere may not be found.
Create and manage your own foods
If a food isn't in the database, add it from a search with no match (Add new food) or after a failed barcode scan.
| Field | Rules |
|---|---|
| Name | Required |
| Brand | Optional |
| Serving size and unit | Required, above zero |
| Macros | At least one of protein, carbs, or fats |
| Calories | Calculated from the macros |
The food lives in My Foods, where you can search your foods, log one, add another, or delete one. An existing food's details can't be edited — delete it and recreate it. Deleting is permanent.
Save a meal you've already logged
- Log the foods into a meal card as normal.
- Open the meal card's menu and choose Save to My Meals.
- Give the meal a name. A name is required.
Build a meal from scratch
From the My Meals tab you can create a meal, or edit an existing one, in a full recipe editor: name, photo, servings, cooking time, ingredients added through the food picker, and numbered instructions. A live band totals calories and per-serve figures as you go.
Deleting a saved meal is permanent.
Log a saved meal in one tap
On the My Meals tab, search your meals and tap a meal's log button. Every item in the meal is added to the day and meal you're logging into, and it groups in your diary like a recipe — tap the group to expand it, swipe an ingredient to delete it alone, or swipe the group header to delete the whole thing.
Save foods and recipes for later
Tap the heart on any food in search, or on a recipe's screen, to save it. The Saved tab splits into Saved foods and Saved recipes, each searchable. You can log a saved food or recipe straight from the list, or remove one with its row action. Your saved recipes also have their own screen, with a search box and a saved count.
Open and log a recipe
Tap any recipe — in a meal plan, My Meals, or Saved — for its photo, description, ingredients and instructions tabs, notes, and related recipes.
| Control | Range |
|---|---|
| Serves stepper on the recipe screen | Whole serves, 1 to 12 |
| Serves typed into the log sheet | 0.1 to 20 |
The stepper scales the ingredient quantities and the calorie and macro figures live, and the serves you picked carry into the log sheet when you log the recipe to a day and meal. A meal plan's prescribed serves are clamped into the stepper's 1–12 range.
