How do I use the workout player?

Log sets, run supersets and intervals, use the rest timer, adjust the workout mid-session, and finish it.

The workout player is where you actually train. It opens when you tap Start workout, keeps the screen awake, and saves your progress automatically as you go.

A slim header shows the workout name and a running session clock. The clock measures real elapsed time — it keeps counting while your phone is locked or you switch apps — and stops at 3 hours.

Choose a player layout

The player has two layouts:

  • Paged — one exercise or section per screen, with Prev/Next buttons and a tappable progress bar.
  • Vertical — the whole workout on one scroll, with cards expanding in place.

Switch any time from the workout options sheet under Layout. Your choice is saved to your account and follows you across devices, and your coach can also set it for you.

Log your sets

  1. Open an exercise. You get its demonstration video and written instructions, your coach's notes, and your previous result for reference.
  2. Enter your numbers on each set row — weight, reps, time, distance, or whatever your coach set up.
  3. Check the set off.

Tap a set's type — Warm Up, Dropset, Failure — for an explanation of what it means. You can also change the number of sets on the fly.

Supersets are logged round by round: every movement of the round appears together, a round selector jumps between rounds, and rest starts after you check off the round's final movement.

Interval sections run in a dedicated timer player that takes over for the section. You can enter weights on interval exercises, and a completed section can be reopened and edited.

Rest between sets

With the Rest Timer setting on, the countdown starts as soon as you check off a set, and you get a "Timer Finished!" notification when rest is up — even if the app is in the background. You can skip a rest, or start an ad-hoc rest timer any time from the workout options sheet.

Change the workout mid-session

  • Edit workout — from the options sheet, or the workout preview. Add exercises from the libraries your coach allows, remove or reorder exercises with a long-press and drag, and change sets, reps, rest, and times. At least one exercise must remain, and a completed workout can't be edited this way ("You cannot modify a completed workout").
  • Swap an exercise — if your coach attached alternates, pick one from the alternates sheet to perform in place of the original for this session.

Adjust your player settings

SettingWhat it does
Rest TimerTurns the between-set rest countdown on or off
Paged LayoutOn = one exercise per screen; off = the vertical one-scroll player
Video SoundPlays exercise videos with or without sound
Video AutoplayWhether demonstration videos start automatically

These are saved to your account and follow you across devices. Your weight units — metric or imperial — come from your profile settings and drive the weight fields and total-volume display.

Finish or cancel the session

To finish, work through to the pre-finish review. It summarises what you completed and what you missed, so you can go back for anything or wrap it up. If you set any personal bests, you get a celebration screen before your results.

To abandon a session, use the trash action on the workout preview. A confirmation warns that cancelling discards everything you logged.
