The recipe generator drafts a complete recipe from a description — name, image, food items with macros, cooking time, and instructions — and hands it to you fully editable before you save. It's on the Nutrition → Recipes page, next to New recipe.
Everything it produces is a draft. Verify the nutrition information before you put a generated recipe in front of a client.
Generate a recipe
- On the Recipes page, click Generate recipe.
- Describe the recipe you want. This is required — the more specific, the better the draft.
- Optionally add dietary requirements.
- Use a quick-idea chip — like "50g protein breakfast" or "Post-workout shake" — if you'd rather have the prompt filled in for you.
- Click Generate recipe. The draft appears beside the prompt.
- Review and adjust anything: the name, image, food items and their servings, cooking time, and instructions.
- Click Save recipe.
The saved recipe lands in your Custom recipes tab and behaves like any recipe you built by hand — edit it, duplicate it, delete it, or drop it into a meal plan.
Prompt limits
| Field | What it does | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Description | Tells the generator what to make | Required, up to 1,000 characters |
| Dietary requirements | Constraints the draft has to respect | Optional, up to 1,000 characters |
What the draft is based on
Drafts are localised to your account's country and your metric or imperial unit preference, so quantities come back in units you and your clients actually use.
Things to watch out for
- Check the numbers. AI-drafted nutrition values should be verified before you share the recipe. The generator says so on screen, and it's good practice.
- Every food item in the draft needs a name and a serving above zero before the recipe will save. Fix any blank item before clicking Save recipe.
- Editing a saved recipe later is subject to the tighter instruction limit: freeform instructions accept 2,000 characters at creation but only 1,000 on a later edit, so a long generated method may need trimming or moving into the numbered step list before it will re-save.
