You can log food straight into a client's diary from their profile → Nutrition tab → Food Log. The entry appears in the client app immediately, exactly as if the client had logged it themselves.
This is the fastest way to catch up a client who reports their food at a check-in, or to keep an in-person client's diary accurate.
Log food for a client
- Open the client's Food Log and pick the day you want. Any day works — past or future, with no cutoff.
- Click Log food on the meal you're adding to: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, or Snacks.
- Search the verified food database or your custom foods. You can also create a new custom food inline if the item doesn't exist yet.
- Set the serving.
- Confirm.
No notification is sent to the client.
What you can and can't log
| Action | Available from the dashboard |
|---|---|
| Log a food from the database | Yes |
| Log one of your custom foods | Yes |
| Create a custom food inline while logging | Yes |
| Log a recipe into the client's diary | No — foods only |
| Attach a photo to what you log | No — items you log never carry a photo |
Clients can log recipes and whole saved meals themselves, and can add one meal photo per meal per day. Those routes are client-side only.
Edit a logged serving
- Open the item's row menu and choose Edit serving size.
- Adjust the amount. A live preview shows the recalculated macros.
- Save.
This works on anything in the log, whether you or the client logged it.
Delete logged food
Use the row's delete action and confirm.
- Deleting a recipe header deletes every food item logged as part of that recipe, together.
- Deletion is permanent — there's no way to restore a removed entry.
- The entries disappear from the client app, and no notification is sent.
Things to watch out for
- What you log counts towards the client's day exactly like their own entries, so it affects their calorie totals, on-target days, and streaks.
- If you're logging for a day the client is also logging, add items rather than replacing them — amounts accumulate through the day and each item keeps its own serving and time.
- The picker you use here searches the verified database and your custom foods. The per-client "Your custom foods" and "Your recommended foods" settings control what the client finds in their own search, not what you can log.
