Coach notification preferences live in Settings → Account → Email Updates. The page covers email notifications only, with three broad categories. There are no in-app controls for push notifications, SMS notifications, or per-event preferences — push is controlled by your device, and the in-app notification bell can't be muted.
Open the Email Updates panel
- Click your profile photo in the top right and open Settings.
- On the Account tab, click Email Updates in the left-side menu.
- The page loads on the Email Updates panel with three preferences.
Email categories you can manage
- Account Activity — "Stay informed about important account activity and security notifications." Always on. The toggle is disabled — you can't turn these off because they cover security-critical messages.
- Product Updates — "Stay updated on new features, improvements, and product announcements." Toggleable.
- Feedback — "Share your thoughts and feedback to help us improve." Toggleable.
Toggling either of the unlocked switches saves the preference straight away — there's no separate save button.
What's not configurable in-app
The Email Updates panel is the only notification preferences UI in the coach dashboard. The following are not currently configurable from inside Fitsly:
- Push notifications — controlled by your device's system settings, not from inside the app. To stop or allow push notifications on the coach mobile app, change permissions in your phone's Settings → Notifications → Fitsly. On the web, manage browser notification permissions for your Fitsly URL.
- SMS notifications — there's no SMS toggle in the coach UI today.
- In-app notification bell — the bell icon in the top header collects activity notifications. There's no setting to silence it; clear individual items by opening the drawer and dismissing them.
- Per-event categories — you can't toggle individual notification types (new client, missed workout, payment received, message from client, form submission, etc.). The three Email Updates categories are the only granularity available.
- Do-not-disturb / quiet hours — there is no in-app schedule for muting notifications.
If you're getting unexpected push notifications
Push notifications usually come from one of two sources:
- The Fitsly coach mobile app sending alerts about client activity. Mute or allow these from your phone's system notification settings for Fitsly.
- Habit reminders or other client-side notifications. If you are testing the client app on the same phone, you may receive client-side reminders. Sign out of the client app or remove its notification permissions to stop these.
Things to watch out for
- Account Activity emails are mandatory. The switch is locked on by design because these include password resets, sign-in alerts, and other security messages.
- The same email categories apply across mobile and desktop. There isn't a separate setting per device — toggling Product Updates off stops Product Updates emails everywhere.
- No coach-side push toggles exist today. If you want to silence push without uninstalling, change the OS-level notification permission for Fitsly.
- The in-app bell can't be hidden. You can dismiss individual notifications inside the drawer but the bell itself stays visible in the header.
- The browser tab and mobile coach app share the same email preferences. A change made on web takes effect on mobile and vice versa.
