Date overrides replace a client's default macro targets on specific days. Use them for refeed days, event days, travel — anywhere a client's normal numbers shouldn't apply.
They live alongside the default targets on the client's profile → Nutrition tab → Macro Targets.
Create a date override
- On the Macro Targets sub-tab, click Create override.
- Pick one or more dates on the multi-select calendar. You can choose today or any later date — past dates aren't available.
- Set the targets for those days: calories, protein, carbs, and fat, each enabled and valued the same way as the defaults.
- Set the variance for those days. It starts at 10%.
- Save.
Each override is listed by date with its macro values.
Override settings
| Setting | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Dates | The days the override applies to; today or later, multi-select | — |
| Calories | Calorie goal for those days | Follows the default targets until enabled |
| Protein / carbs / fat | Macro goals in grams, or as a whole-number percentage of the calorie goal | Follows the default targets until enabled |
| Variance | Accepted range around the calorie goal for those days | 10% |
Delete a date override
Open the override's row and choose Delete override. That day falls straight back to the client's default targets.
Overrides can't be edited in place — to change one, delete it and create it again.
Where overrides apply, and where they don't
| Place | Which targets are used |
|---|---|
| The client's diary for that day | The override |
| Your Food Log day view | The override — a date override for that day wins over the default |
| Your Food Log week view (average vs goal) | The client's default calorie target |
| The meal plan editor's day totals | The client's default daily targets only |
| On-target days and streaks | The override for its day, the defaults elsewhere |
Meal plan days aren't tied to calendar dates, which is why the plan editor always judges a day against the defaults.
Things to watch out for
- Every save notifies the client. Creating or deleting an override sends the "Macro Targets Updated" push notification, the same as a default-target save, and it can't be switched off. Set all the dates you need in one go.
- Creating a new override never touches overrides you've already set on other days.
- An override day still needs an enabled calorie goal above zero and food logged that day to count as on target.
