How do I tag and organize my workouts?

Manage workout tags from the Tag Manager tab on your Workouts page, then assign tags to a workout from the tag icon inside the workout editor.

To organize your workouts with tags, create the tags in the Tag Manager on your Workouts page, then assign them to individual workouts from inside each workout's editor. Once a workout is tagged you can filter your workouts list by tag to find it again.

Open the Tag Manager

  1. Click Workouts in the left sidebar to open your workout list.
  2. Click the Tag Manager tab at the top of the page (next to Workouts).

You'll see a table with two columns: Tag name (showing each tag as a yellow chip) and Attached to (showing how many workouts the tag is assigned to).

Create a workout tag

  1. Open the Tag Manager.
  2. Click the + button in the top-right of the tag table. The Create tag modal opens.
  3. Type a name into the Tag name field (max 25 characters; letters, numbers, and spaces only).
  4. Click Create tag. The new tag appears in the table.

You can also create a tag while editing a workout — see the next section.

Assign a tag to a workout

Tags are assigned per workout from inside the workout editor.

  1. Open a workout (from the Workouts page or wherever the workout lives).
  2. In the workout editor, click the tag icon next to the workout name. The Tag manager modal opens.
  3. To create a new tag from here, type its name into the Add new tag field and click Add "[tag name]".
  4. Click any tag in the list to select it (selected tags turn green). Click again to remove it.
  5. Click Update tags to save your selection.
  6. Save the workout to commit the change. Tags don't apply to the workout until you save.

Filter your workouts by tag

  1. On the Workouts page, open the filters panel.
  2. Scroll to the Tags section.
  3. Click any tag to filter the workout list to workouts with that tag. Click again to remove the filter.

If you don't have any tags yet, the Tags section shows: "You do not have any workout tags."

Edit a tag

  1. Open the Tag Manager.
  2. Click the three-dot menu on the tag's row.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. In the Update tag modal, change the name and save. The tag is updated everywhere it's used.

Delete a tag

  1. Open the Tag Manager.
  2. Click the three-dot menu on the tag's row.
  3. Click Delete under Danger zone.
  4. Confirm in the Delete tag modal.

Deleting a tag removes it from every workout it's attached to.

Tag name rules

  • Tags must be 25 characters or fewer.
  • Tags can only contain letters, numbers, and spaces. Hyphens, underscores, and other special characters are not allowed.
  • Tag names must be unique — you can't create two tags with the same name.

If a name fails any of these checks, you'll see an inline error and the tag won't be saved.

Things to watch out for

  • Workout tags are separate from client tags. Creating a workout tag in the Tag Manager doesn't make it available as a client tag, and vice versa.
  • The Tag Manager is the only place to create, rename, or delete tags. There's no inline rename or delete inside the workout editor.
  • The standalone Tag Manager has no way to bulk-attach tags to workouts. Open each workout's editor to set its tags.
  • Tag changes inside the workout editor only stick after you save the workout. Closing the editor without saving discards them.
  • Tags appear as plain yellow chips in the Tag Manager and as colored chips in the editor's tag list (green when selected). There's no color picker or emoji support.
  • Filtering the Workouts list by tag uses an OR match — workouts with any of the selected tags are shown.
